How we check facts
Nothing goes on a guide page unless it first exists as a checked fact with a source attached. Here is the process, step by step.
Sources, in order of preference
- Official and government websites, plus the operators’ own websites
- Booking agents
- Wikivoyage
- Wikipedia
- News reports
Every source is named.
A link, a quote and a date
For each fact we save the address of the page it came from and the exact words that back it up. That quote has to appear on the source page as it stands online, not on an old copy. Every fact also carries a date for its next re-check.
Conflicts and gaps
Where sources give different figures, the page shows the spread between them and names both. Anything we can’t confirm stays off the site.
Written by AI, read by a person
The guide pages are written by an AI model, Anthropic’s Claude, working only from the stored facts. Before a page is published it passes automatic checks and is read by a human reviewer.
No photo on the site is AI-generated. The logo and favicon are the only images that may be.
On every page
Small numbers beside the facts point to the page’s list of sources, so any claim can be traced. A short change log shows what was edited and on which date.
Report an error
Found something wrong or out of date? Send it through the contact page. Name the page, say what looks off and, if you can, add a link to a source that shows the right detail.
